Eligibility Requirements
Be enrolled at/completed a post secondary education program
Willingness to devote some time and energy to mentees above normal outlined responsibilities
Be approachable and accessible
A good listener/motivator who encourages learning, exploring, and positive thinking
Ability to give constructive feedback in a positive manner
Desire to help open doors and opportunities for mentees
Can commit 4 -6 hours per month to the program
Mentor Duties
Mentors will have an enriching experience advising mentees while simultaneously engaging with the leadership and professional network we have. Mentors are expected to be at minimum engaged with the program for just 4 - 6 hours per month. You will be able to engage with doctors, engineers, lawyers, CEO’s, and more! Mentors are expected to be welcoming and engage with the mentees accordingly, answering their questions and helping them find the answers to questions you don’t know! You will teach and learn in this program, and we are extremely excited to work with you. Below you will find a mock schedule of programming for the month January, which will give you insight into the program structure.

Monthly Time Commitment: 4 -6 Hours

Saturday, January 2, 2020 | Monthly Staff Meeting | 10 - 11 AM PST
Meeting to debrief amongst the mentors and executive team. We will make sure the mentors are receiving adequate support, discuss potential programming, address any issues, and connect mentors to resources that will maximize our scholar’s interest.
Saturday, January 9, 2020 | Talk with Dane Holmes, CEO of Eskalera| 10 - 11 AM PST
Talk with Dane Holmes, CEO of Eskalera and Ex-Global Head of Human Capital Management at Goldman Sachs. Dane will be talking for 30 minutes to discuss how to plan, execute, and manifest your goals. We will then debrief with a planning workshop, to help the scholars plan out what they want to do in life.
Saturday, January 16, 2020 | Mentor-Mentee Check In | At your discretion (1 hour)
Mentor to check in with their mentee, in addition to advising the progress of goal planning assignment from last week.
Saturday, January 23, 2020 | Mentor-Mentee Check In | At your discretion (1 hour)
Mentor to check in with their mentee, in addition to helping create an ACT Study Plan.
